Too many times I get stuck on a particular topic or issue at work. As an owner of a company, sometimes these issues can consume a person.
Over the years, I have been able to connect with a few, close individuals who have helped me look at these issues from a number of different perspectives. It is critical to have these type of people in my life so I don’t ever think I have to solve these type of issues by myself.
I have found tremendous value in reading the bible and prayer. There are many stories and sound principles to follow. I really like reading the Letters of Paul, because he writes from his experience and he wrote for an audience at the time of his writing.
A good, hard workout is also a way to workout some thoughts and concerns as well as focus on building strength. In 2016, I made the decision to stop going through the motions of working out and really look closer as to my growth with respect to strength numbers: pounds and reps. There is a difference.
In addition, I keep several journals of my thoughts, reflections, work notes, prayers and accomplishments. It is vital to write down dates and see where I am and where I need to go.
I share these thoughts with you as a way for me to give back to my connections and let people know what I am all about. Being an owner in 2016 is a humbling experience. I am a servant leader and I work everyday to earn the trust of our employees and clients. Once in awhile, more reflection needs to occur to determine where I am at. The good news is everyday is a new day and I keep pressing on.
Philippians 3:14 “I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.”
